What our graduates say
Recruitment
“I joined Cooper Parry after completing a Maths degree at Sheffield University. In my final year I decided that I’d like to study for the ACA qualification and started applying to a number of different firms. I managed to get an interview with Cooper Parry and jumped at the chance. On attending I was struck by how approachable and friendly the people were and knew that they were different. Not only did I have a formal interview I also got to have a chat with some of their graduates, where I got to ask the questions.”

“Even before my first day at Cooper Parry I knew that I had made the right decision. Since accepting the job I had been invited to all the social events and got to know a lot of the team. The initial two week induction was a great experience and gave me the opportunity to build relationships in our year group across all three offices. As well as learning all about the firm’s visions and values, we also got to take part in some basic accounts training. This helped me enormously not only in my day to day work but also made my first week at college less daunting.”

The Culture
“One of the best things about working for Cooper Parry is the atmosphere in the office and the people that make up our team. The office is open plan so everyone from junior to partner sit side by side and as such are easily approachable. Although we work hard, we are also encouraged to take advantage of our hour's lunch break and often go out together for lunch or challenge the managers on the Nintendo Wii.”
“Work life balance is really important to everyone at Cooper Parry. As well as the many organised social events we also have a netball and football team who play in local leagues. My favourite night so far was the treasure hunt in Loughborough, it was really good fun especially stopping off at some of the local pubs en route!”

Work & College
“There’s no question about it, studying for your ACA and being at work is a challenge, but at Cooper Parry they give you all the help and support you need. They understand the pressures you feel and so you do actually leave the office at half 5 and aren’t expected to do any overtime. People always have time for you at Cooper Parry and when I had a problem during my first few weeks at college a manager gave up their lunch to help.”
“The internal training is second to none. You don’t just sit through a boring hour long presentation and have to keep waking yourself up. Most sessions are more of a discussion than a lecture and as they are interactive really help with tasks involved in your day to day work. It is not only an enjoyable experience but one which means you don't realise just how much you are absorbing amongst the fight for the chocolate biscuits or diverting change of subject!”

Why Cooper Parry?
“What attracted me the most to Cooper Parry was its innovation and continual growth which provides many exciting opportunities for progression within the firm. Also, although we’re one of the leading business advisory firms in the East Midlands, you never feel like just another number. From day one I was encouraged to develop my individual identity within the office and contribute my personal ideas.”
“The firm is large enough to gain experience in a range of sectors and with a variety of clients whilst still providing the opportunity to explore all areas of audit. This also means that one day is never the same as another which makes Cooper Parry an exciting place to work.”
“I would recommend to any new graduate that they should apply for a position at Cooper Parry to ensure that their first experience of “the real world” is a pleasant one.”
