Cooper Parry link up with China

Link up in China

Cooper Parry Partners Kevin Harris and Heath Walker spent a week fact-finding in China at the end of 2007.  The main aim was to develop closer ties with local professionals and businesses, building on the links Leicester already has with the Sichuan province at government and educational levels.

Cooper Parry visited alongside a number of Leicestershire based companies and public sector organisations as part of a trade mission led by the Council Leader of Leicestershire County Council, in addition to UK Trade & Industry and East Midlands China Business Bureau.

The visit was centred around the province of Sichuan in central western China and covered the two main cities of Chongquing and Chengdu. In addition, Kevin and Heath visited contacts in Shanghai.

Following the visit, Kevin commented:

‘We recognise a lot of local businesses are either presently trading with this fast developing part of the World, or are interested in establishing links. We felt it was vital for us as business advisers to have first hand knowledge of China in order that we can help and advise our clients. Having now established close links with local professionals we are now in an excellent position to assist local businesses with sourcing at a local level.”

“Our initial trip was a great success, so much so that we will be revisiting the province in April to further cement relationships and follow up on a number of opportunities. As part of this visit we will be hosting a series of seminars advising local businesses how they can better establish links with UK companies and trade with the East Midlands region.”
