Two teams from Cooper Parry business advisers took to the Southwell slopes to compete in a team triathlon.

For most, this was their first triathlon event which covered a sprint distance of 400m swim, 20k bike and 5k run.

The teams chose to compete in the event to raise money for the Stroke Association, Cooper Parry’s charity of the year and have raised close to £1,000 in sponsorship from colleagues and friends.

Gemma McDonald who did the swim leg for The Cooper Parry Rollers, said, “This was my first experience of a triathlon. I loved it, it was great fun.  The hardest bit was getting my dry gear on over my costume when I exited the pool! Next time I may progress to a tri-suit.”

Jennifer Manning-Ohren, one of the team organisers said, “There was great team spirit and determination on the day. We all had fun passing on the timing chip to fellow team mates and through the generosity of others, managed to achieve something really important for our charity.”

The Cooper Parry Rockers completed the race in 1hr 37 and the Rollers in 1hr 19.  Donations can still be made on the justgiving page at:-
