Time Bar, Leicester, set the scene for the second annual Cooper Parry Pool League final which was the culmination of the corporate group stages and show pieced both the semi finals and final.
Semi Final 1 pitted the winners of Group 2 HSBC against the runners up of Group 1 Gateley Wareing. In an extremely close fought match, HSBC eventually triumphed 3-2 to book their place in the final.
Semi Final 2 saw the winners of Group 1 Howes Percival take on the runners up of Group 2 - RBS. In another tight encounter Howes Percival went on to secure their route through to the Final. The final score of 3-0 did not do justice to such a close match.
The Final - after three months of hard fought matches, the clincher was against two of the strongest teams in the tournament, Howes Percival and HSBC. Every frame went down to the wire, but in the end HSBC tipped the balance to take the 2008 title with a final score of 3-1. They left triumphant in the knowledge that they had also managed a whole season unbeaten.
Simon Baines, Senior Manager at Cooper Parry business advisers said “We set up the corporate pool league to challenge and inspire competitors from a number of business sectors. The event has been a huge success and our fellow professionals were treated to an enjoyable evening of sport and entertainment”.
