Cooper Parry net victory over Flint Bishop
Added : 5th June 2008
Regional Business Advisers, Cooper Parry were firing on all cylinders with the help of team mate Ade Cheatham in a 15-7 netball victory against Flint Bishop.
On paper, Flint’s athletic youngsters looked favourites, but the more ‘experienced’ Cooper Parry team set an early pace with some clinical finishing from Goal Shooter Emma Fitzpatrick, who seemed odds on to score every time. Aided by some progressive attacking play, she got in to excellent positions and was fast providing a comfortable lead for the team.
Towards the end of the first half, the Flint’s team started to pressure the Cooper Parry backline, but the combination of pristine defensive play from Cooper Parry’s Gemma Oliver and the height advantage of Ben Jonah, kept them at bay.
Early in the second half, work by Nicola Carr from the centre to Helen Munro put Cooper Parry in some fantastic attacking positions.
Ade Cheatham, playing goal attack, stepped up to build on his first half display and contributed some ‘little corkers’. Ade’s effective method of shooting came to the fore as he sunk one in ‘basketball style’ from close to the edge of the area and netted seven in all.
The triumphant business advisers from Cooper Parry will look to build on this success, where it’s hoped the winning feeling will filter through to ‘A’ team CP Ducks, as they continue to battle for places in the league.
