On Snowdon

23 hours and 48 minutes - cause for celebration indeed!

A group of Cooper Parry colleagues took to the peaks of England, Scotland and Wales to challenge themselves to climb and descend Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all in aid of The Stroke Association.

Known as the Three Peaks Challenge, business tax colleagues, Jon Kicks, Philip Rogers, Ivan Wilcox, Phil Smith and Shaun Nee embarked on the arduous task of getting under the twenty-four hour target.

This was their first attempt at the trek and had spent several months preparing over Winter with practise walks in surrounding peaks including climbing two out of the three 'challenge mountains.'

In the time-pressured, harsh environment and with minutes to spare, they managed a time of 23 hours and 48 minutes breaking the 24hour target.

Jon Kicks, Business Tax Assistant Manager, said "it was tough.  The weather, the road works and our weary legs all took their toll, but we achieved our goal and all our training paid off."

Philip Rogers, Business Tax partner added, "Thanks go to our back-up team of Steve Taylor and Jason Croke who did the mileage with the support vehicle and lots of hot drinks."

The team have raised £800 for charity.
