Boots Purchase The Frosts Chemists
Boots has purchased five stores (the Frosts Chemists chain) in Sutton Coldfield. The stores are in Boldmere, Four Oaks, While Road, Parade (Sutton Coldfield) and Streetly.
The employees of Frosts have known for a while that Frosts were in discussion with Boots and the deal was finalised over the weekend. All employees will be offered the chance to transfer to Boots. The Mere Green photo lab was not included in the transaction.
A Boots spokesperson said: “We are delighted that our purchase of the Frosts Chemists chain in the West Midlands has been a success. The five stores transferred to Boots over the weekend and we are pleased to welcome all the Frosts people to the Boots chain. Our priority now is to work with our new colleagues on ensuring a smooth transition while continuing to offer great service to the existing customers. Our store portfolio is a critical aspect of modernising our business. We need to have our stores where modern shoppers want them.”
Cooper Parry Corporate Finance was responsible for the transaction. It was led by Matthew Proudlove, who commented: “I am delighted for our clients, who have run a successful family business for almost 80 years and firmly believe the longer term interests of their customers and staff will be well served by being part of Boots.”
