Team Prep for Liverpool to Leeds Cycle Challenge
Added : 20th June 2008
Colleagues at regional business advisers Cooper Parry will attempt to cycle the length of the Liverpool to Leeds canal on the 18th July 2008 in under 18.5 hours.
Only one other known team has completed the distance of 127.25 miles within the time frame, so it is a real challenge.
Their attempt is in aid of The Stroke Association, the firm’s nominated charity of the year.
The team members hoping to achieve the distance against the clock are; Phil Wood, Rob Burden, Richard Gawthorpe, John-Joe Cottam and Juliette Ranson.
Richard Gawthorpe said “I made an unsuccessful solo attempt as a student and thought it would be a good opportunity for a team challenge to raise funds for our nominated charity.”
Philip Rogers, Business Tax partner at the firm said, “One of our senior colleagues suffered from a stroke last year and he is still recovering. We wanted to show our support and as a firm we have backed The Stroke Association. This challenge is one of a number of events we will do this year to try and raise as much funding as possible.”
