It cannot have escaped your attention that stock markets have been extremely volatile since the start of 2008, including both sharp falls and recoveries. We want to reassure you that we are monitoring the situation closely. A broad consensus has emerged from some of the investment managers with whom we work closely concerning the factors driving this turbulence.
We believe that it is likely this uncertainty will continue, but would argue that it is more important that the construction of your investment portfolio continues to meet your long-term objectives, within acceptable boundaries of risk and return.
