Business Advisers Cooper Parry have appointed Ewan Rosie as Paraplanner to help provide financial advice to high net worth clients.

His work will involve tasks such as fund research, report writing and valuing clients' investments and he will support one of the firm’s Private Client Directors.

Ewan’s appointment is a success story for Cooper Parry and Nottingham Trent University.  He spent his placement with the firm in 2008 during his financial studies degree.  He studied Business Studies, Financial Services, Planning and Management.  He was so impressed by his placement he turned down other offers when he graduated.

Ewan said, "I am extremely happy to be back at Cooper Parry. There were other job offers on the table but I really enjoyed my year here on placement.  It was always my first choice to get a job back in the Financial Planning team. I am thankful to have come out of university and into a job straight away. Friends have found it difficult due to the credit crunch so I think this shows the value of a year‘s placement."

In terms of his future development, Ewan added, "I am close to achieving the Certificate in Financial Planning which I started during my placement.  After this I want to achieve the Diploma in Financial Planning as it will be a key qualification from the end of 2012."

“Trevor Roberts, Team Leader for Placement and Employment at Nottingham Trent University, said, "We are really pleased Ewan has been able to continue his career at Cooper Parry.  It’s important to know that both our students and local firms benefit from our business placements and we look forward to working with Cooper Parry on an ongoing basis."

Partner, Stephen Jones added "It is great to have Ewan back with us and to be able to support his career progression. We recognise the importance of identifying talented individuals who can make a difference to our clients.  His appointment confirms our commitment to attract and retain the very best people and reflects our ambitions to continue to grow Cooper Parry in the region."
