"Exchequer is certainly living up to our expectations!"
The Fiducia Group, which owns Henry Davidson and Eden Park Developments, recently moved to new premises in Nottingham. The main function of the company is land acquisition and development. The move created a requirement for a new accounting and costing system, and Cooper Parry IT were consulted for advice. Financial Director David Twomlow commented: “It was clear that we needed a modern system with “out of the box” functionality coupled with strong financials, job costing, easy-to-use reporting and multi company capability.”
David added “it was essential that the new system provides complete visibility and control of all project costs from pre-acquisition right through to development and project completion. In addition it is necessary to account for each development separately and to consolidate the results. Each major development is set up as a separate company.”
Cooper Parry IT Partner Peter Colledge recommended three systems that Fiducia could consider. After demonstrations the company chose the Exchequer Construction Industry Solution. This provides strong financials, consolidation and costing. Peter added “The real-time OLE link between Exchequer and Microsoft Excel will prove to be invaluable for costing and budgetary control purposes.”
Amy Grey, Financial Controller, saw the potential of the live OLE link to Excel, and the time it could save in producing monthly reports. By utilising the OLE features, reports would only need to be created once – thereafter, data fields would automatically refresh and update each time the report was subsequently opened. In addition the project managers can view the reports without Fiducia having to purchase additional Exchequer user licences.
David added that the timescale for the implementation was tight – 8 weeks from order to go live. Cooper Parry achieved this without a hitch. David commented “I am delighted with the way in which the project has been completed, and Exchequer is certainly living up to our expectations.”
