Maternity, Paternity and Adoption

The Work and Families Act has introduced a number of changes to Maternity regulations over the past few years and also introduced the concepts of Adoption and Paternity rights into the workplace.  It can be a challenge to keep up to date with all of these areas of employment law and with further future changes planned, employers need to ensure that they understand their duties under these regulations.  The seminar will focus on compliance with the relevant legislation and best practice approaches to applying the requirements of the regulations.

Objectives

By the end of the programme participants will be able to:

• Advise a pregnant employee regarding their maternity leave and pay entitlement
• Handle unusual situations that may arise during a maternity leave period
