Let’s talk today
Want us to call you? Let’s start a conversation!
What do you do?
I lead a team that helps clients implement business intelligence solutions to improve their reporting and analytics. We can automate the preparation of existing reports, which saves clients time, as well as getting them access to new information and analysis that they don’t currently have access to. An important part of our offering is that we are experienced finance professionals, so we understand financial data, your requirements and can give advice on appropriate analytics for your business, in a way that people without our experience cannot. This means that our projects deliver on expectations where others might not.
Why do you do it?
I started as an audit trainee at a big 4 firm, but audit wasn’t quite for me. Luckily BI software was just starting to find its feet around that time and there was an opportunity to work on it. Straight away I found the work more enjoyable and decided this was the path I wanted to follow.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
Frequently the first engagement we perform with clients is the automation of the monthly reporting (Management Accounts, Board packs etc), it is a great way to demonstrate the benefits of our services to clients as this tends to save significant staff hours on a regular basis and is a process that would be almost impossible to automate without our accounting backgrounds.
We also develop analytical tools for clients to maximise their data for decision making, including building our models into our own AI programme where we will guide you on how to utilise and interpret complex financial analysis as well as allowing you to interact with that data in new user friendly ways.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
I went back to study part time after I finished my training contract and found it a very different experience to doing my undergrad, I genuinely enjoyed learning rather than feeling compelled to do it. I think I would eventually like to go back and study full time.
