My accounting career started when I was 16 years old, straight out of school, having decided that I was far better suited to the world of work and commerce than sitting in a classroom learning about things I had no interest in.

Haines Watts gave me an opportunity to train with them and invested in me from the outset. 9 years later and I am a manager within the Small Business Unit, as well as heading up our Payroll department, which includes managing a large portfolio of SME clients, and a team of 10 great individuals, who make every day that little bit better.

I support my clients with everything from preparing annual financial statements to daily bookkeeping. My client facing role mainly consists of compliance services, and assisting clients with their annual tax planning.

If I wasn’t doing this: I’d be in Cornwall with family

Favourite sports team: Chelsea FC (My partner wouldn’t have it any other way!)

Dream location: Somewhere hot, with a glass of Pinot in hand!
