WHAT DO YOU DO?
As a corporate lawyer I get to delve into a variety of matters including the sales and acquisitions of companies, equity investments, the restructuring of company groups and the provision of general corporate law advice to shareholders and directors. In short, guiding clients towards their end goals with a solution focused approach.
wHY DO YOU DO IT?
Being a trusted advisor to any client is a privilege and I revel in the opportunity to understand a business, the people running it, their goals and how to make those goals a reality. Travelling that journey with a client makes me ‘tick’ and at Cooper Parry, that is exactly what I get to do.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?
I am dual qualified in Northern Ireland and England & Wales so, have the benefit of acting on projects across both jurisdictions.
As home is where the heart is – I am particularly enthusiastic about projects in Northern Ireland. Whether those projects concern acquisitions & disposals, company group restructures, finance facilities or resolving company governance issues.
To give a flavour, these are some of the projects I have acted on:
- Disposal of a Mexican inspired fast-food chain with locations across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to a UK based hospitality investment platform.
- Seed investment rounds in relation to a company in the aerospace sector.
- An equity and debt investment round for a company group in the social health care sector with sites across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
- Acquisition and disposal of Northern Ireland based companies in the residential health care sector.
- Finance facilities and related security instruments underpinning investment and acquisition projects involving conventional and non-conventional lenders.
WHAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
Scoring the winning goal for Northern Ireland in the final of the FIFA World Cup.
Granted that is perhaps a little over ambitious so, watching Northern Ireland play at a FIFA World Cup would be thrilling and certainly satisfy the bucket list.
