PROBLEM

  • Hutcheon Mearns (Now a part of Cooper Parry) was engaged to advise a PE backed business, which had recently made two signficant acquisitions, on the structure of their finance team and potential resource requirements.
  • Having gone from a single entity, UK based business to a multi entity business with international operations in a short period of time, the finance team was under pressure and lacked the necessary experience required to support the new compex business

SOLUTION

  • The Resourcing team reviewed the client’s current finance team and worked with the Financial Controller to identify pressure points.
  • Once we had highlighted the areas where particular skills were lacking, we advised on the creation of two new positions, devised job descriptions and provided guidance on potential candidate profiles and salary levels given the current market.
  • We then carried out a search, presented a shortlist of candidates and successfully placed both positions.

  • Provided an objective view on the current finance team and identified areas for improvement.
  • Handled the recruitment process from start to finish, supplying a targeted shortlist based on defined criteria.
  • Communicated the opportunities to external market, capitalising on our extensive existing network as well as attracting new potential candidates.
  • Managed all aspects of the candidate experience, minimising time input required from the client.
  • Successfully placed two new finance team members who have added signficant value to the team.
