What started as insourcing resource from South Africa during Covid, utilising a variable workforce through third parties, has grown into something much bigger – and far more exciting.

Today, Cooper Parry’s South Africa team is 60 strong and counting. They’re full-time CPers, embedded in our culture, driving our operations, and helping us scale smarter, faster, and more boldly than ever before.

SCALING WITH PURPOSE

With many of our South African team currently working across the full audit spectrum and central functions, the impact of bringing them onboard full-time has been huge. Now, we’ve got big plans to grow the team to 100 and beyond.

That means broadening our talent net across South Africa, tapping into new specialisms, and building out teams that support every corner of CP and our clients’ fast-changing needs.

Whilst we’re continuing to grow CP’s existing service lines in South Africa, we’re also exploring opportunities to expand into complementary areas. These include Sustainability Advisory, Salesforce dev and other digital specialist roles, and brand and marketing roles, where the local talent market shows strong capability and alignment with our broader growth plans.

WHY SOUTH AFRICA?

South Africa’s talent pool is booming – and for good reason.

As the BBC recently reported in a story that spotlighted CP’s South Africa team, the country offers a powerful combination of high education standards, English fluency, and a time zone that aligns neatly with the UK.

Add to that a vibrant work ethic and a hunger for opportunity, you’ve got a recipe for success – and a perfect culture match with CP.

Gemma Edwards, Partner & Head of Digital Business Management has been instrumental in building out our South Africa operations. She says:

“Our South Africa team has evolved into a strategic powerhouse, full of brilliant, driven people who bring energy, expertise, and fresh thinking to everything they do. We’ve already built strong connections with the CPers out there, and I’ve had the pleasure of visiting them on several occasions alongside other partners and team members.

None of this would be possible without the brilliant work of our internal team, especially Gemma Rosie, our Director of Overseas Operations, who’s been key in driving this next phase of growth. With big plans on the horizon, our focus remains on ownership, impact, and continuing to build a truly global CP community.”

THE FUTURE’S BRIGHT

As we continue to scale, we’re investing in the infrastructure, culture and leadership needed to maintain the feeling of connection and empowerment for our South Africa team.

We’ve long been Working From Anywhere. Anytime. Forever (WFAAF). South Africa is just the latest chapter. And if you’re bold, curious and up for shaking things up, there’s a place for you at CP – wherever you may be.
