What do you do?

I’m an Audit Manager at Cooper Parry, spending most of my time at our Solihull office, but with WFAAF (Working From Anywhere. Anytime. Forever), I could be at any of our offices, at home, or on the other side of the globe!

I manage a portfolio of ambitious, privately-owned businesses across an exciting range of different industries, together with a portfolio of people in our audit team, meaning I’m building lasting relationships both in and out the firm.

Why do you do it?

I was a numbers nerd at school (and still am to be completely honest…) and that ultimately led me down the path of accountancy. What I love about audit though is that it gives me opportunities to problem solve and help/advise people, whether they’re my clients or my team members.

It really is true that no one day is the same, no one week is the same, and that makes the job even more interesting and exciting – I never know what my day has in store!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Before joining Cooper Parry in Feb 2020, I spent 7 years at Grant Thornton, where I worked with clients of all sizes, operating in various industries and having different ownership structures. Whilst I am growing my portfolio here at Cooper Parry, I hope to again establish a varied client portfolio whilst participating in non-audit projects. This really is the start of an exciting journey!

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Bucket list? What’s one of those?

In all seriousness, I don’t really have a bucket list. Of course, I have personal goals and objectives, but I take life as it comes and make sure that I’m enjoying life as much as I’m enjoying work. Having said that, I do still want to become a professional footballer and play for the biggest club in the world (Man United), so when they come calling, my audit career may need some serious consideration…
