What do you do?

I’m an Audit Senior Manager working in our Big Business team.  

I help our clients through their year–end audit process – from planning to signing the statutory accounts. I lead the team on site and act as the bridge between them and the signing partner. Day to day this means good communication, thinking on your feet if issues arise, and lots of project management to organise all the moving parts to the engagement.  

Why do you do it?

I love the variety and independence I have in my role. Every audit engagement I have is a mini project, with a different team, and different challenges. I am able to work with that team, and the client, with enough freedom to feel like I am in control, but with so much incredible support from peers and partners at CP if I need it.  

I genuinely learn something new every week, and am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on unique projects and proposals in between the audit work I complete.  

CP is such a brilliant company to work for. The benefits are extensive and brilliant – I just wish I’d come to work here sooner!  

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’m still quite new to the team but so far I have been part of several first year audits (lots of clients signing up to find out why the grass is always greener on the CP side!). I love being part of their initial journey with the firm and making sure they feel at home.  It is really interesting learning about their systems and working out the best way to audit their accounts.  We can always find ways to improve efficiency in their year–end audit process and hopefully provide some good challenges and insights along the way. 

What’s on top of your bucket list?

A trip to Japan. The country is so diverse and rich in history, culture and natural wonders, there is just so much I’d love to explore! I want to see the cherry blossoms but also the Autumn colours so it might take several trips to tick it all off!
