What do you do?

I’m an audit manager based at our East Midlands office. I manage a portfolio of clients across different sectors and also look after most of our solicitor clients here in the East. I’ve been at CP since 2013 when I joined as a qualified senior and haven’t looked back since!

Why do you do it?

I always knew I wanted to do something with numbers but wasn’t sure what that looked like job wise. Whilst I was at Nottingham Trent University I landed a placement year at a firm of accountants based in Sheffield in the audit team and learnt about the ACA qualification – the idea of training and studying and being supported through this by your employer really appealed to me. I love problem solving and the variety of the role, working with different clients across many different industries. I also love our team and helping them develop.

I’ve recently become a mum and I love the flexibility and benefits that are available at CP and the support given to working mums.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’m mainly involved with compliance for my clients but as my clients are so diverse there are often projects which come up outside of the compliance process. I’ve been involved with financial DD work and assisting our Corporate Finance team with the sale of some of my client’s businesses. This has been really rewarding seeing the process through and understanding how our work in the audit team feeds into this.

Internally I have also been involved with rolling out new software to our audit team and training them on how to use this.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I have never really travelled so I’d love to see a bit more of the world! I’d love to go road tripping around Europe, particularly Italy.
