Our team is passionate about all think Employee Incentive and Venture Capital Schemes!! Our focus is helping companies across a range of industries to grow their business by taking advantage of tax efficient schemes.

My role is to work with our clients to support them with creating and managing employee share schemes and venture capital schemes. To help clients navigate everything from tax valuations and ERS reporting, to supporting their funding objectives through providing services like S/EIS Advance Assurance and compliance work.

WHY DO YOU DO IT?

I studied accounting at university and after 4 years of telling myself it wasn’t the career for me, I took a course on tax in my final year and that was it decided! I love the way tax all connects together, like an intricate web.

I love working with numbers and finding solutions to complex problems, and tax gives me the perfect blend of logic, creativity and challenge.

What motivates me most, though, is the people. I love taking something complicated and making it clear and easy to understand, helping clients feel confident, reassured, and able to bring their ideas to life. For me, the best part of the job is knowing that the work I do genuinely helps our clients to achieve their goals for their business.

WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?

I’ve worked on a wide range of projects supporting start‑ups and high‑growth companies, helping them from the very beginning, with implementing schemes, and throughout the scheme’s lifecycle. This includes advising on eligibility, securing HMRC advance assurance for EMI and S/EIS, preparing tax valuations and managing the ongoing demands of compliance filings, to providing advice on specific queries and complexities as they arise.

I particularly enjoy more complex projects, such as growth share valuations and cases that tackle technical tax points. More recently, I’ve also been involved in exit‑related tax work, including due diligence work for EMI and preparing HMRC clearances to support clients through transactions.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I am a big animal lover, top of my list at the moment is to see orcas and puffins in the wild.
