What do you do?

As a relationship partner, I’m the main point of contact and the ‘go to person’ for my clients. I manage the overall relationship and ensure that the client gets the best service we can provide. I’m mainly focused in audit, and as a responsible individual (RI) it is my responsibility to sign audit opinions and to ensure the audit runs smoothly and efficiently. In addition to any compliance services, I aim to be a consistent point of contact for my clients, ensuring I am around to help when needed. My goal is for my clients to feel like I am ‘one of the team’.

Why do you do it?

I always knew I wanted to work in finance to some degree, and the ACA qualification seemed like the best approach. Nowadays, I do my job to help owners run their business as best as I can. I’m a people person who thrives off building long-standing relationships. I have been working with some of my clients for many years now. I love working at Cooper Parry as I get to experience so many different companies, people and personalities. No one day is the same and it keeps me on my toes.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’ve worked on a number of exciting projects over the years. I’ve learnt that it doesn’t always have to be a large transaction or tax restructure to be exciting. Just being involved in something that helps my clients achieve their goals, no matter how big or small, gives me a sense of achievement. Knowing that I have helped in some way is my reward.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I’ve always enjoyed travel and experiences, and I have ticked off a number of things already such as sky diving, bungee jumping and white-water rafting to name a few. One thing that still sits at the top of my list is a safari. Many of my bucket list items were ticked off in my twenties but this is one I’ve held on to until my kids are a bit older as I think it would be an amazing family adventure.
