What do you do?

I am heading up the data and analytics team within Tech.  Think of it like I am trying to make sense of the numbers within the company to help make the business make smarter decisions. I will be talking to different teams / functions to see if we can build models to predict things like revenue, find patterns, and basically spot opportunities to help the business grow, e.g. can we tweak pricing could be boost profit? Or here is where we will  have the best success in cross and up selling our services to our clients.

Why do you do it?

I like the meaning of data (the “so what of it”) rather than the data (the “1’s” and “0’s”) itself.  So, working at CP allows me to work with like-minded data loving people but they love spreadsheets and I am not that keen on them.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I want to experience the Northern Lights, to see the power of the suns solar rays and how it dances on earths atmosphere.  I have experienced being on the top of tall mountains, being in vast national parks, scuba dived with sharks and whales but to experience something from a different planet would be amazing..
