What do you do?
As a Director in our Transaction Services team, I support clients with the financial aspects of a deal – whether they’re buying a business, selling a business or raising funds.
In short, we really get under the skin of the numbers to make sure our clients are getting the maximum value out of their specific transaction, whatever that might be.
Why do you do it?
I fell into the world of deals as a graduate many years ago and haven’t looked back since. Providing genuine, trusted advice to clients during what is a real milestone moment for their business is incredibly rewarding and is what keeps me interested after all these years.
I also love the team aspect of deals. We provide various specialist services to clients, and it often takes a number of these to get a deal successfully over the line – but getting over the line as a team on a successful deal makes it all the more enjoyable.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
I’ve been involved in all kinds of deals over the years – including large multinational transactions and IPOs – and in a variety of sectors (from tennis rackets to insurance software to car financing).
These days however I spend the majority of my time supporting mid-market transactions in the technology sector, often for private equity clients. Getting to know what really matters to our clients and being able to bring recent, relevant knowledge and experience makes what we do that much more rewarding.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many amazing sporting events, but it would be a dream to take my two daughters to the Super Bowl one day. I know it’s all over-the-top fanfare and showbiz nonsense, but there is nothing quite like big live sporting events – and they don’t come much bigger!
