WHAT DO YOU DO?
I help businesses get their finances in top shape and build teams that can truly make a difference. (formerly Hutcheon Mearns Founder), my job is to keep our team moving forward – always looking for new opportunities, ideas and ways to help our clients. Day-to-day, I oversee our operations, guide our strategy, and make sure we’re always developing and growing as a business. It’s a mix of steering the ship and rolling up my sleeves when needed.
WHY DO YOU DO IT?
I’m passionate about problem-solving and making finance work better for everyone – both for businesses and the people within them. After spending over a decade in professional services and industry roles, I saw there was a real need for a fresh approach in financial consulting. That’s why I launched Hutcheon Mearns in 2015: to shake things up in the professional financial services world, offer something different, and help clients navigate complex situations with confidence and clarity. Joining CP has allowed me to further develop this journey. I love being able to make a tangible impact and see our ideas come to life in the results our clients achieve.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?
My experience is pretty varied. I started with six years working in assurance at KPMG before moving into senior finance roles in industry. As Group Finance Controller at Reservoir Group, I oversaw more than 20 acquisitions and integration projects, helping grow the business and leading a team of 55 through an exciting period – including the sale of the company for over $500 million to ALS Ltd. Since founding Hutcheon Mearns, I have been involved in developing and rolling out our unique business model, which has helped clients across different sectors. Whether it’s mergers, acquisitions, business integrations or creating new ways for finance teams to add value, I enjoy tackling complex challenges and seeing teams succeed.
WHATS ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
I would love to move to Spain and identify a good “local” which serves Tennent’s and allows me to sing My Way on Karaoke.
