What do you do?

As an Audit Senior Manager, I am responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts and the audit of the financial statements. In addition to managing the audit process, I provide support for several members of line staff who are looking to become qualified Chartered Accountants.

Why do you do it?

When selecting a course for university, I decided to follow in my dad’s footsteps and opted for accounting. After university, I worked for a company carrying out audits on car dealerships whilst completing my ACA qualification. Since then, I have enjoyed working as part of a larger team with numerous members of staff and clients alike. I enjoy building good working relationships with clients and getting to know more about them and their business, whilst ensuring a smooth audit process that delivers a high-quality audit to the timetable.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Until recently, I was wholly focussed on a motor trade portfolio and have extensive experience in the industry, but I have started to broaden my client base in recent years to gain experiences and ideas from other sectors.

What’s top of your bucket list?

Being a Blackpool fan can be tough, but I’d like to visit all 92 current football league grounds – I’m currently on 57! Apart from that, it would be great to get out and see more of the World especially Australia for The Ashes!
