What do you do?

I deliver large scale complex technology enabled business change. I used to install cable & fibre infrastructure, started building comms rooms, moved on to commissioning networks, graduated to building data centres then moved on leading business & technology change initiatives. I then started working on Private Equity backed M&A engagements across global clients at ever increasing scale and complexity. In short I’m the project & programmes expert.

Why do you do it?

I really enjoy taking complex business problems and solving them through technology enabled change. Many times I’ve seen people trying (and failing) to make a difference without the skills, scars, methods, tools or experience to make it actually happen. For me taking what often looks like an insurmountable problem and turning it rapidly into a benefit enabling success is what gets me out of bed in the morning. Sadly I spend far too much time in spreadsheets and constantly get ribbed for putting a pivot table on everything !

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Many years ago I travelled across South America. Whilst in the Amazon bason I saw pink dolphins who are amazing creatures and super intelligent. Apparently if you and your partner swim with the male & female dolphins they protect you from the Caymans & Crocodiles, one of the few places its safe to do so without getting eaten!
