What do you do?

I work with scaling high growth companies to help them to achieve their goals in a tax efficient way by looking at their business holistically. This includes but not limited to gearing them up for their next transaction, be it fundraise or sale event to ensure they have no nasty tax surprises. I aim to maximise value and to minimise their tax cost on the deal.

Why do you do it?

After a careers event at school when it was suggested that I should be an accountant my immediate response was no, all accountants are boring… how very wrong I was and the culture at CP just proves that. I’m not sure when I changed my view but whilst studying accounting and finance at university, I released my love of tax (the Jaffa cakes the lecturer gave out did help!) and I haven’t looked back since. Everyday is different, finding solutions to a whole array of tax issues whilst working with amazing people.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

The reason I love working in the Tech & High Growth space is because my clients are always doing something. Whether be it raising finance, scaling overseas operations, R&D tax credits, implementing share option, through to remuneration policies, buying and selling businesses, generating growth or a mixture of these at the same time; it keeps me busy!

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I don’t really have a bucket list, if I want do something then I will strive to achieve it. Though I do come from a sailing family (my grandpa sailing to the artic circle in his 70’s and my dad recently sailed double handed across the Atlantic both ways with technology failing, so they had to steer the whole way!), I just need to decide what my sailing challenge is, feel free to give me your suggestions!
