What do you do?

I work with a wide range of companies to source high calibre accounting and finance professionals to join their teams. I leverage from my “Big 4”, qualified accountant background and extensive recruitment experience to match exceptional individuals with the right opportunities, ensuring people make the right steps in their career and add value to my clients’ businesses. I manage the recruitment teams offering both permanent and temporary positions in Aberdeen and Glasgow, ensuring market leading service levels for both clients and candidates. 

Why do you do it?

While I truly value my accountancy training at EY, I always knew that in the long term I wanted a role where I worked with people.  Being a Recruitment Director allows me to leverage my knowledge in accounting to ensure the best level of service for our clients.  I love connecting people with opportunities that help them grow and succeed in their careers. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact that the right hire can have on a business. I thrive on a recruitment challenge and handling specific requests, all while building relationships and meeting the unique needs of each client and candidate. It’s all about making meaningful connections and contributing to the success of both individuals and organisations.                        I also love managing the teams, supporting our people to be the very best they can be and to succeed in their careers. 

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’ve worked on a wide variety of exciting recruitment projects, from helping a start-up find their first Finance Director to assisting a large international groups to fill multiple senior accounting roles. Each project is unique, but they all share the common goal of finding the best talent to drive business success. I often work on fast paced projects where businesses have an urgent resource need, and I thrive in that environment! It’s truly rewarding to see the tangible benefits of my work, like improved team performance, increased efficiency, stronger financial management and people achieving their career goals. 

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Top of my bucket list is to do a family trip to South Africa and go on safari.
