WHAT DO YOU DO?

As a Partner at Liberty, I advise management teams on their management incentive/equity plans (MIP/MEP) in a wide variety of scenarios, including when there is a change of ownership on primary or secondary transactions (and beyond), public to privates (P2Ps), management buy-outs and buy-ins (MBIs / MBOs), fundraises with prospective investors, or where a new MIP / MEP is required to be (re)designed and implemented. 

WHY DO YOU DO IT?
Alongside any journey, successful or otherwise, the alignment of interests is central to ensuring the team are all working with specific goals in mind. Management incentives/equity schemes sit at the heart of that, and I am enthusiastic about delivering attractive and aligned incentive schemes for management teams collaboratively and constructively with investors. These MIP / MEP schemes can be life-changing for management teams, and seeing that come to fruition is incredibly rewarding. 

WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?
I have worked on a wide range of deals from advising management teams where the majority shareholders are undergoing a competitive transaction process, founders/shareholders are looking to leverage our experience and benchmark data to put in place a fit-for-purpose equity scheme in addition to regular salaries and bonuses (whether that is a new scheme or a recut of an existing scheme), and entrepreneurial management teams looking to agree equity terms with a financial sponsor in a public or private buyout, or a long-term fundraise project (e.g. infrastructure deal)  

WHAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
As the son of a chef, to become more accomplished in the kitchen (ironically) and to eat well and experience as many cultures as possible through their cuisine.
