What do you do?

I focus on audit compliance within the Risk & Compliance Team. I find that I have various projects on the go at any one time, which keeps things really interesting.

I support Cooper Parry and our teams to ensure that they are compliant with the ICAEW’s Audit Regulations and ethical requirements and support teams with queries they may have.

Why do you do it?

I enjoy project work and supporting others. Lists might sound boring to some, but it’s the way I work. I get energised from getting things done, and hope that in the process I’m able to assist people along the way and be helpful where I can.

I trained in audit practice, working for two medium sized firms then moved to ICAEW for several years enjoying a huge variety of work. I now get the same variety at Cooper Parry and I’m really happy I moved here.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Some of my projects to date include the revision of the firm’s CPD requirements to ensure that we are fully compliant with the ICAEW’s updated rules. Revamping the fit and proper declaration process and launching a number of policy updates including new ISQM2 policy and guidance to help our audit teams with reviews.

Along with all of that, the day-to-day sees me assisting teams with audit and ethical queries. No two days are the same!

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Always love a holiday – city break or beach and have plans up my sleeve for various destinations over the next few years, including some longer haul trips to Canada and Australia with my family.

I’m a Bolton Wanderers fan, but don’t live up North anymore. I try to watch them as much as I can and have a number of grounds on my list to get to that I haven’t visited before.
