Want us to call you? Let’s start a conversation!
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I advise management teams on equity participation in privately owned businesses, often when the company is being acquired by a new investor. My role is to ensure they are fairly represented and appropriately incentivised as they enter the next stage of the business. I support them in negotiating with the incoming investor and in translating complex financial structures into clear, practical terms – ensuring they fully understand and can confidently engage with the equity terms.
WHY DO YOU DO IT?
This wasn’t a path I set out on from the beginning. I began my career in software development before transitioning into accountancy and deal advisory. What’s kept me in this field is the variety, the fast pace, and the opportunity to work closely with ambitious management teams to achieve outcomes that truly reflect their contribution. Over the years, I’ve encountered more spreadsheets than I ever imagined – and I’m still often surprised by the state they’re in.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?
I’ve worked with management teams across a broad range of sectors – including technology, financial services, business services, and real estate. Most of our work centres around advising on management equity in private equity transactions, which are often key inflection points for the business. These deals are exciting because they’re transformative, enabling teams to realise value and partner with new investors to drive the next stage of growth. The impact is both financial and personal, helping teams make confident, informed decisions at a key moment in their career.
WHAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
A motorbike tour across South Africa. The country’s blend of sweeping coastal roads, dramatic mountain passes, and vast open landscapes makes it ideal for exploring on two wheels. It’s an opportunity to experience its natural beauty and cultural richness in a direct, unfiltered way, offering both a sense of adventure and the space to step back from the pace of everyday life.
