What do you do?

I lead a team that checks companies’ financials to make sure everything’s accurate and above board. We spot risks, help fix issues, and make sure the business is playing by the rules.

Why do you do it?

Honestly, I kind of fell into it. I started auditing fresh out of uni, and it just clicked for me. I like the problem-solving part of the job, and the remit to be a bit nosy. I don’t dream about spreadsheets, but I do love making sense of messy data and helping clients get things right. Working at CP has been solid. Good people, challenging work, and I get to lead a team that actually cares about doing things properly.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’ve worked on everything from standard financial audits to highly technical projects like CASS audits for investment firms. Those are intense – we dive deep into client asset segregation, test controls, and make sure firms are fully compliant with FCA rules. It’s high-stakes stuff, because mistakes can mean regulatory fines or reputational damage. Clients really value the peace of mind we give them, knowing their systems are watertight and their reporting stands up to scrutiny.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Top of my bucket list? Finally finishing the renovations on my house. I love the process of designing, building and fixing the mistakes I’ve made. Some days it’s an uphill battle, other days the time flies by. Having an end product I have built is incredibly rewarding for me, especially when I can sit back and enjoy the view. Don’t get me wrong, building spreadsheets is great too.
