What do you do?

I lead the Specialists team, across Aberdeen & Dundee. We have a team of employed, qualified accountants who bring hands-on experience to clients through interim project work. My role is to find the right opportunities, match them with the right people in my team, and be the main contact for clients.   

Why do you do it?

I trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in a Big 4 firm, then spent several years in industry across a variety of finance roles. While I always enjoyed the technical side, it was the people aspect that I found the most rewarding, building relationships, solving problems collaboratively, and helping teams. My current role allows me to lead a brilliant team, work closely with clients, and enjoy the variety that each day brings. Although I do still love a good spreadsheet!  

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

We’ve supported everything from finance transformations and system implementations to year-end delivery and maternity cover. Each engagement brings its own challenges, which keeps things interesting. What stays consistent is our focus: delivering practical, high-quality support that makes a genuine difference to our clients, while creating meaningful opportunities for our team. 

What’s on top of your bucket list?

There’s still lots of travelling I’d like to do, but top of the list is probably driving through the Canadian Rockies with 90’s classics on full volume!
