What do you do?

When my kids ask me what I “actually do”, I tell them I’m like a superhero with a calculator and a cape made of spreadsheets… My mission? To protect companies from financial villains—mistakes, sneaky errors, or anything suspicious hiding in the number. Fortunately for me, they’re still young enough to think that sounds cool!

In the real world, I lead audits, helping ambitious businesses stay switched-on, compliant, and confident in their financials.

And after 20 years at PwC, I joined CP for a fresh challenge: to grow our footprint in Yorkshire and the North-East, build brilliant client relationships, and shape a team of top talent who live and breathe the CP values.

Why do you do it?

I’ve always been wired to dig into the detail, connect with people, and keep learning—because let’s be honest, every day is a school day! Numbers make sense to me. People inspire me. And solving problems with both? That’s where the magic happens. I care deeply about doing great work, building real relationships, and helping others grow—whether that’s clients, teammates, or the wider CP crew.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

From listed companies to owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed firms and foreign-owned subsidiaries—I’ve led audits across the board. My more recent sector experiences span energy, manufacturing, and food & drink supply. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the brilliantly unexpected.

But it’s never just about ticking the compliance box. I’ve supported clients through acquisitions, business sales, finance system implementations, and post-merger integrations. I bring a wealth of experience and straight-talking insight to the table—helping clients navigate complexity, avoid pitfalls, and make confident decisions.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I love to travel and have visited multiple places across six continents—Antarctica’s the only one left. But let’s be honest, I’m not desperate to freeze in a tent or bond with penguins. So I’m officially claiming Patagonia as my top bucket list place to visit and my honorary seventh continent… it’s close enough!
