Let’s talk today
Want us to call you? Let’s start a conversation!
What do you do?
I’m probably one of the few people who will happily admit to being naturally drawn to numbers and spreadsheets! But I’d never want a career that was purely about the numbers, the people and relationships behind them are what make the job interesting.
Financial planning gives me the perfect balance. I get to solve complex problems and get into the detail, but I also get to sit across the table from the people my work is actually helping.
Seeing someone go from uncertainty to having a clear plan, and the confidence to act on it, is what gives me the greatest satisfaction.
WhAT KINDS OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?
Every client plan is different, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the job. I’ve helped people realise they can retire earlier than they thought, take once-in-a-lifetime trips and help their children onto the property ladder, all while knowing they still have enough to feel financially secure themselves.
The numbers are important, but they’re really just the starting point. The interesting part is understanding what someone genuinely values and then building a plan that helps them make more of their money and, ultimately, more of their life.
When you see someone make a decision they previously didn’t think was possible, that’s when the real value of the plan comes to life.
WHAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
There are still plenty of countries I’d love to explore, but the one sitting at the top of my bucket list is actually a little closer to home.
My wife is from the Scottish Highlands, and I’d love for us to find the time to climb all 282 Munros together. It’s definitely not something we’ll tick off in a weekend, but that’s part of the appeal, plenty of adventures, incredible scenery and a pretty good excuse to keep heading back to a place that means a lot to us.
