What do you do?

I provide high level tax support and planning advice for owner-managed businesses, their owners/shareholders and entrepreneurs as well as other fellow professionals and advisers.

Why do you do it?

I have worked in tax for 46 years and within the advisory/planning side for twenty years. I enjoy problem solving in an area of work which constantly changes and evolves. Working with good clients and helping them achieve their aims has always been a driver for me.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I specialise in business reconstructions which often arise from pre-sale planning and passing on to next generation. This often involves splitting up businesses or groups of companies via demergers and management buyouts. Brain storming options that could work discussing with clients and working with talented colleagues to find the right solution for the client. Then working alongside lawyers to implement plans once we have successfully obtained the necessary clearances from HMRC. All of this can be rewarding and fulfilling.
