What do you do?
I head up the Marketing Team and support our business areas to achieve their targets and goals by creating and delivering marketing strategy plans. I then manage the marketing activity within our team which covers anything from communications, events and digital marketing to client experience and data analysis.
Why do you do it?
I fell into marketing by complete accident. At the age of 16 I was interviewed for an apprenticeship in a Finance Team, was turned down but was told I would be more suited to a marketing apprenticeship in the same firm. I didn’t even know what marketing was at the time but took the job and was so pleased I did – Finance is definitely not for me!
The one big thing I love about marketing is the variety, there’s always something new happening especially at CP, and no two days are ever the same. I also love the fact that you work with so many different people in the firm as I’m very much a people person and love chatting about new initiatives and coming up with crazy ideas.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
I’ve been at CP for nearly 20 years now so there’s far too many to mention. However, CP has grown and changed so much over the years that I’m constantly kept on my toes and been involved in some really exciting stuff. To be honest there’s not much that happens in this business that I’m not involved in, and that’s the way I like it!
What’s on top of your bucket list?
I really want to go to Vegas and see Elvis. I might even renew my wedding vows there (if my husband agrees). I also love singing and would love to be in a backing group, especially for Robbie Williams, now that would be my dream come true. Failing that, then just going out for a drink with Robbie would suffice, I’m pretty sure we’d get on like a house on fire!
