What do you do?

I head up our audit team in Scotland. We’re growing at a pace of knots, connecting with PE-backed and owner managed businesses across numerous industries including energy, manufacturing, food & drink, tech & high growth, and many more.

Why do you do it?

First and foremost, I’ve always been good with numbers which led me into accounting. I also enjoy meeting new people, understanding their business and listening to their business headaches. After a brief stint away from audit, I missed working in an audit team, working with clients to solve problems and identify areas from improvements.

And yes, of course, I love spreadsheets!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

With almost 15 years’ experience, I’ve worked with everyone from ambitious start-ups and owner-managed businesses to major listed organisations in the UK and internationally.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I’m a list sort of guy, so to say one thing is very difficult. On the theme of lists, my two lifetime goals are to tick off all 282 Munro’s and all the top 100 Scottish golf courses. 

I also love travelling and seeing new places – my current #1 destination is South Africa, but having a young family is proving to be a hindrance in achieving this.
