What do you do?

I work closely with growing businesses and entrepreneurs to be the safe pair of hands they need when it comes to their finance function. Ultimately we find solutions to their problems – whether that’s taking the pain out of the annual compliance process or guiding them through a period of change.

Why do you do it?

I love the variety of businesses and stakeholders that I get exposed to each day – I might be talking a finance assistant through how to resolve a technical accounting issue one day, sitting in a board room talking the owners of a business through how we can support them the next.

I also love getting an inside look at how different businesses operate – factory or workshop tours fascinate me, especially for my clients in the food and drink industry!

The culture at CP – it’s amazing working in an environment where everyone loves what they do – it’s infectious – this really comes across to our clients too.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Our different projects can vary hugely. I currently look after a UK arm of a growing US group – looking after all of their day-to-day finance needs – from running their monthly processes, to monitoring cash flow requirements.

Another recent project involved filling a short-term gap in a client’s finance team – we made improvements to their finance systems / processes until they found a new finance manager.

I also love getting involved with technical accounting projects – always learning something new and working through logically.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Before I reach the big 30 milestone I would love to run a marathon! The idea of pushing my mind and body to it’s limits, and knowing that if I can achieve that I can achieve anything.

There are LOADS of places I would love to visit – waterfalls in Croatia, New York at Christmas, the Northern Lights in Iceland, seeing elephants in South Africa, I could go on!
