What do you do?

I am a specialist recruitment consultant based in Dundee, I focus on placing part-qualified and transactional finance professionals across Dundee, Angus, Perthshire, and Fife. Since 2023, I’ve supported a broad range of organisations, ensuring each hire aligns with the technical and cultural needs of the business, offering both permanent and temporary solutions.

Why do you do it?

Throughout my career, I’ve naturally taken on the role of a problem solver — someone who takes ownership of challenges and sees them through from start to finish. Whether leading teams of 12 to meet performance targets, managing procurement functions, or running operations single-handedly for businesses with turnovers of £2 million, I’ve always thrived in fast-paced, hands-on environments.

What drives me is working collaboratively to deliver outcomes — and recruitment has always been a key part of that. Building strong teams, finding the right people, and aligning talent with business goals has been a consistent thread in every role I’ve held.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’ve worked on a real mix of recruitment projects — from placing permanent hires with large, global firms in shiny city-centre offices, to pulling on my wellies and heading out to meet agricultural clients based in the middle of nowhere. No matter the setting, the focus has always been the same: understanding the environment properly so I can find the right fit for the team.

What I’ve learned is how to manage completely different client expectations at the same time — often working at opposite ends of the scale. Whether it’s a slick corporate setup or a small rural business, the goal is always to build trust, deliver results, and turn those one-off placements into long-term partnerships. I’m proud to say many of those clients have come back to work with me again, with great feedback along the way.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

One day, I’d love to take my partner and young son back to Australia and New Zealand — places I once called home for over three years — to visit the friends who became family along the way. It was such a special chapter in my life, and being able to share those memories (and make new ones) with my own little family would be incredibly meaningful.
