WHAT DO YOU DO?

I help clients reduce the amount time spent on manual and low value tasks they have in their existing VAT compliance processes by designing and deploying VAT technology and automation solutions.

We have also built some really cool VAT analytics tools that can identify VAT savings, risks and working capital benefits that can be really beneficial to businesses.

WHY DO YOU DO IT?

Like so many others I fell into VAT, for me that was more than 20 years ago and still enjoying it! After a slight ‘career direction shift’ I moved into the VAT tech, compliance and automation space for the last 10 or so years.

I am a spreadsheet, tech and data geek through and through! I love building stuff to help solve both big and small problems. I get a particular buzz from automating the manual and repetitive tasks (both generally very boring!) that compliance teams have to endure every compliance cycle.

WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?

I’ve been involved in a real mixed bag of projects over the past 6 months, from designing a market beating VAT analytics platform to helping clients fix historic VAT liabilities across multiple countries where they should have been registered. I’ve also helped a client out of a massive hole with their Intrastat reporting across a dozen countries.  .

WHAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?

That’s a tough one – so many things I would like to have done have been ‘on pause’ due to bringing up children, COVID and other challenges. One thing I would love to do is take a couple of months off and go and volunteer on a community project (such as helping to build a hospital or school) in a country where they simply don’t have enough. We take so much for granted when there is so much need.
