WHY DO YOU DO IT?

Initially, I landed in VAT by chance after completing my professional exams. But more than 12 years later, I’m still here! It’s the variety of work which has kept me interested in it – with a constantly changing VAT landscape and businesses doing new & different things, there’s always something different to learn about and work through.

At CP, we’re trying to do things in a different way – still providing great VAT advice, but doing so in different ways, using different technology and tools to be really efficient.

WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?

A real mix – some of the biggest projects include end-to-end cross-border supply chain design for a new EV manufacturer, managing (and resolving!) partial exemption disputes between clients & HMRC and national campaigns on the back of case law to claim historical VAT bad debt relief.

I also just like helping people. Whether that means solving an urgent issue so a business can complete a transaction on time or running a VAT training session for multi-national tax teams, I like making things work better.
