What do you do?

I’m part of the CP Group M&A team, helping deliver the Group’s growth strategy through acquisitions – with a particular focus on expanding our Wealth business, where I also sit on the Senior Leadership team. Put simply, I help find great businesses that would be a brilliant fit for CP, build trusted relationships with their owners, and help bring them into the Group in a way that adds strength, capability, and long‑term value. Most of my time is spent identifying opportunities, executing deals, and helping to plan how we integrate new businesses so they succeed from day one.

Why do you do it?

I didn’t set out to work in accountancy – like many people, I fell into it. I began my career with four years at Baker Tilly, then spent 13 years at KPMG working across Restructuring, Turnaround, and M&A advisory – advising on multiple transactions, largely in Financial Services. From there, I spent over two years at a PE‑backed wealth management business, leading M&A and gaining hands on experience of what it takes to scale an organisation through acquisition. That’s what ultimately drew me to CP. It’s a genuinely ambitious, people‑first organisation where M&A isn’t a side activity, it’s a core part of the growth plan. I get to work with senior leaders across the Group every day, contribute directly to shaping our future – It’s the kind of environment where you can make a meaningful impact and be part of building something long‑term.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I joined CP in June 2025 and it’s been full speed from day one! I’ve been fortunate to be involved in a number of transactions, including: Hutcheon Mearns A brilliant business that significantly expanded our Scottish presence and strengthened our capabilities across finance projects, resourcing, and advisory. Their expertise allows us to support clients more deeply in areas such as finance transformation and delivery, giving them access to a broader range of specialist skills and practical hands‑on support. Gem & Co A high‑quality financial planning business in London with a genuine client‑first approach. Bringing Gem & Co into the Group significantly enhances the depth and breadth of our wealth offering and strengthens our presence in a key market. Both deals have helped the Group grow in ways far beyond the numbers – widening our reach, and enhancing what we can deliver for clients across the board.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Completing the Mallorca 312 – an iconic cycling endurance challenge that sounds like a great idea when you sign up… and a terrible idea the week before. It’s been on my list for a while – maybe next year!!
