What do you do?

I help companies with their innovative incentives, mainly through R&D tax claims but also have assisted with Research and Development Allowances (RDAs) and grant funding opportunities.  My job entails helping clients understand the sometimes very complex legislation and guidance around these innovation schemes, advising and supporting them in claim preparation and helping them to prepare robust and compliant claim submissions.  I’ve worked with companies across various industry sectors including engineering, manufacturing, biotech/pharma, energy, oil/gas and construction.

Why do you do it?

I have worked with clients from early stage startups working on some groundbreaking projects spun out of university research, to large multinational corporations with various R&D sites and facilities across the UK.  This could be helping them to claim R&D incentives for projects in robotics, satellite imaging, energy storage, recycling and healthcare AI to name but a few!

What’s on top of your bucket list?

With 2 young kids I haven’t had much of a chance venture outside the UK over the last few years. but there are still lots of places I would like to travel to, such as South America and New Zealand!
