What do you do?

As a Deals analyst working across both Corporate Finance and Transaction Services, my role involves various tasks that enable our team to advise and support businesses, on both the buy and sell side, on M&A transactions. This includes sector mapping, supporting with deal origination and assisting the due diligence process.

Why do you do it? 

I’ve known since I was younger that I’d like to pursue a career in Finance. I’ve always enjoyed working with figures and data, and my time at university cemented my decision from the time I spent working with large groups of data and displaying it in a way that could influence decision making. I also spent time when I was a bit younger watching finance videos on YouTube (Not how most teens spend their time I must admit) teaching me how to read financial statements, the indicators of financial health, and different types of investment. I enjoyed it that much that I wanted to do it full time as my career.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I’d love to see more of the world, I try and travel as much as I can to experience different cultures and broaden my horizons. Top of my bucket list would be taking my Mum to Hawaii because she mentions it at least 2-3x a week. I’d also like to take my girlfriend to New York at Christmas, and see the Northern Lights.
