”While the audit was completed within the required timeframe, the two phases of the audit process could have been delivered over a more condensed period. A shorter overall audit window would have enabled the Trust to finalise and approve the accounts at an earlier stage. During the latter part of the audit, there were several instances of reduced responsiveness, primarily due to the unavailability of key staff for extended periods. These delays contributed to slower progress in completing the final elements of the audit. The audit team demonstrated a comprehensive, professional, and diligent approach throughout the work undertaken. The remote nature of the engagement, however, occasionally led to misunderstandings or the need for further clarification of queries raised, which in turn contributed to some delays in progressing certain elements of the audit.”
