“R&D Claim: The financial results were a little less than we had expected, and the time it took to turn around (with regular reminders) was longer than expected. This did allow us however to add in the following financial year, so both years’ tax relief should arrive with us at the same time and we have caught up with ourselves.. As we are within a difficult financial period, any additional income or reduced outgoings will benefit the charity as a whole and allow us to continue to deliver outcomes to our end users.”

“We only use audit services but I still feel that we’re getting the same lack-of-understanding questions which is frustrating. Knowledge from previous audits doesn’t seem to find its way to the team so they look a bit silly when they still don’t understand (e.g.) the stock system. Also I didn’t feel that the team really understood manufacturing businesses this year – not sure if this is because they’re unfamiliar?”
