What do you do?
I lead our Outsourcing team, advising and supporting ambitious, growing, entrepreneurial businesses. Many of which are seeking Private Equity investment to help achieve growth.
To provide these businesses with the FINANCE TEAM, TECHNOLOGY and STRATEGIC support they need to succeed and achieve their goals. And to help Cooper Parry become synonymous with providing holistic support to Early Stage through to Scale Up businesses.
Oh, and I love the culture at Cooper Parry!
Away from our clients, I love to help my team succeed and give them the opportunities they want to achieve their own goals and ambitions.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
I have spent more than 20 years supporting ambitious growing businesses and helping them succeed. Partnering with them to provide the support, challenge, opinion and solutions they need, as typically, they haven’t done this before.
I support them at each stage of their journey and show them how to achieve their goals, whatever they maybe. From ‘back office’ finance team outsourcing and clarity on the key financial information to drive the business forward, to accounting or whole business tech systems, and strategic direction and advice.
The key is to build a strong relationship and trust so that I can be proactive and bring ideas and solutions. That leaves them to focus on their business and helps them succeed. That’s what I love doing. And really, that’s what it’s all about.
Now, I can do that whilst working within the entrepreneurial, ‘culture trumps strategy’, disruptive environment that is Cooper Parry. ‘Make Life Count’, we say. And that’s exactly what I want to do – not just for myself, but for my clients, too.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
Working at Cooper Parry has given me so many more options and the chance to actually have a bucket list I can achieve.
My family is my life and passion and I’d love to go travelling with my wife and 2 daughters across Europe for a month, experiencing lots of places I’ve never had the chance to visit before.
For myself, I have over the last 2 years gone from 10km runs to a 100km ultramarathon. I wanted to keep pushing myself physically and mentally and I’m certainly doing that. It is also a huge help for not just physical but mental wellbeing. Within the next 2 years, I want to complete a 100-mile ultra in 24 hours.
Other ‘minor’ items on the list – jump out of a plane (with a parachute) and actually, properly surf!
