What do you do?

I listen. We’ll talk. I’ll take you by the hand and walk with you through exploring the dreams and aspirations you hold, for yourself and your loved ones……but also through the worries and fears you carry. We’ll work together to plot your safest, yet most exciting and rewarding path. I’ll draw pictures and use real-life language to bring everything off the page. We’ll laugh together, we’ll cry together; because I’m here for the good, bad and ugly life has to throw at us.

Why do you do it?

I come from a family of Teachers, but possibly haven’t got the required patience for managing 30 kids (I have 3 of my own, that’s challenging enough)! However, I do have that same “teaching mindset” of wanting to impact lives, help others to learn and contribute to their wellbeing. I’ve found that using my knowledge and understanding of the complex, often intimidating world of “personal money stuff”, and giving it some normality and humanity, really creates a positive outcome for the companies, individuals and families I work with. That’s why I’m loving life at Cooper Parry, the client really is at the heart of what we do here – it’s a perfect cultural fit for me!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

In my 20+ years of working with the “money stuff”, I’ve been involved in loads of amazing projects! All of which have helped me really understand the deepest human emotions that drive behaviour and ultimately Financial Success. From being an Accredited Adviser for the UK Police Service and a Pension Transfer Specialist for Final Salary Pensions; to working with Consumer groups of people in/at retirement and being a Technical Consultant for Financial Advisers…….I’ve seen a lot! Every step in my career has provided me with both Technical and Human experience; which are equally as important in an advisory kit-bag.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

At my stage of life, with my kids growing up fast, it’s mainly my wife and I snatching every opportunity to spend time with them before they’re all “grown and flown”. So it’s holidays wherever we can and weekends on pitch sides cheering them all on! I’m a big believer in “Making it Happen”, so am very fortunate to have seen/tasted/smelled/experienced many of the things I always wanted to…don’t get me wrong though…there’s more to come!!!!
